Job Overview

UNICEF works to reduce the deterioration of water, sanitation, and hygiene systems by partially restoring their functionality through cost-effective interventions, providing more children and families in Syria with access to clean water and reliable sanitation. UNICEF also ensures that delivered water is safe for drinking and promotes basic hygiene practices.

Key Functions and Accountabilities:

• Provide technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process.
• Prepare, manage, and implement various technical and administrative tasks related to the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of WASH output results for the country program.
• Engage in program development, planning, management, monitoring, and delivery of results.
• Provide technical and operational support for program implementation.
• Handle humanitarian WASH preparedness and response.
• Focus on networking, partnership building, innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: A University Degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical), public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering, environmental health, health education, international development, or any other relevant technical field.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in WASH, program management, water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion, monitoring and evaluation, humanitarian response, capacity building, partnership development, or policy advocacy.
• Skills: Demonstrated experience in program management, monitoring and evaluation, report preparation, program implementation, and partnership building.
• Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
