Telecom Engineer

Job Description

• Job Title: Telecom Engineer.
• Location: SARC Head Quarter, Damascus, Abu Remmaneh.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Designs, installs, tests, and commissions various telecommunications systems such as Radio networks, WAN networks, IP PBX, or VSAT.
• Drafts specifications and standards for telecommunications equipment.

• Provides support for the development of technical specifications for procurement; evaluates vendor proposals, performs tests, and recommends selection of telecommunications equipment.

   

   

• Establishes performance standards for telecommunications equipment and services and recommends corrective measures to improve service quality and operational performance.

   

   

• Provides planning support for rapid set-up and operations of communications infrastructure at local and wide area levels, including technical reconnaissance missions to regional sites and branches.
• Provides engineering services related to planning, implementation, and maintenance of local and wide area telecommunications networks.
• Provides emergency communications capabilities to support staff security.
• Collaborates with HR on training modules and conducts presentations for staff regarding communications technology.
• Supervises staff and technicians in HQ and branches as required.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Education: Telecommunications engineering graduate from an accredited University.
• Experience: At least 2 years of working experience in a similar position.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Very good knowledge in Telecommunications (VHF, HF, VSATs, PBX, Telephony, etc.).
  • Proven competence in Enterprise-grade Networking technologies (wired, Wireless, TCP/IP protocols, switching, Routing, SD-WAN, SD-LAN, etc.).
• Languages: Good language skill in English.
• Skills: Strong general computer and network knowledge.
• Travel: Ability to travel to all Syrian governorates.
• Documentation: Valid passport.

• Sense of responsibility and ability to take initiatives and work independently.
• Willingness for self-education in ICT-related fields.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and resistance to stress.
• Able to write clear and concise reports, procedures, and quality documents.
