Medical Officer - Menbij, Aleppo - National position

Job Profile:

Under the technical supervision of the Health & Nutrition technical specialist, the Medical Officer is responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality healthcare services at RI-supported Health Facilities and partners, providing technical support to medical staff through supportive supervision, capacity development, and monitoring adherence to standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take the lead in implementing health activities in supported Health Facilities ensuring quality standard packages of care.
• Monitor and technically supervise healthcare providers through ongoing communication and field visits.
• Identify prevalent epidemic diseases and set up strategies for epidemics and health emergencies.
• Conduct regular clinical audits, case reviews, and prescription audits to ensure compliance with treatment guidelines.
• Participate in medical staff recruitment, training planning, and capacity building.
• Coordinate with commodity, logistics, WASH, protection, and MEAL teams to ensure integrated facility operations.
• Review EWARN weekly reports, health facility reports, and compile timely project reports.

Person Specification / Requirements:

• Minimum first degree in Medicine from a recognized institution/university.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical practice in health care inside Syria with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of public health principles and medical protocols.
• Experience working with NGOs in humanitarian or developmental contexts.
• Good command of written and spoken English, and strong computer literacy.
