Protection Officer - Bza'a - National Position

Job Profile:

Under the supervision of the Protection Coordinator - NWS, the Protection Officer supports the development, organization, and supervision of protection (GBV prevention and response) and psychosocial support (PSS) activities in Idleb and/or Aleppo and other governorates, managing and providing technical support to Social Assistants and PSS Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and supervise the daily implementation of protection activities, focusing on GBV and PSS.
• Ensure appropriate planning, workplans, and monitoring of protection activities.
• Ensure regular updating of referral pathways and proper follow-up of referrals.
• Coordinate with protection community-based committees (TORs, work plans, trainings).
• Manage and provide administrative and technical support to Social Assistants, PSS Assistants, and Community Mobilizers.
• Deliver regular technical supervision, capacity-building, and mentoring on protection topics, especially GBV.
• Review and validate case files, activity reports, and documentation ensuring compliance with standards.
• Represent RI in sub-sector and coordination meetings and coordinate data management securely.

Person Specification / Requirements:

• Law, social work, human rights, sociology, psychology, or relevant degree/diploma.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with NGOs/INGOs in the protection sector, specifically with vulnerable women and girls.
• Knowledge of GBV prevention and response activities including case management, awareness sessions, and PSS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic.
• Adaptable, capable of working under pressure and in team settings.
• Staff supervisory experience and knowledge of the Northeast Syrian context preferred.
