Job description 

Position Purpose:

The Director of Business Development is responsible for leading Violet's organizational growth through strategic resource mobilization, donor engagement, institutional partnerships, market intelligence, and business development systems. The position drives sustainable funding, strengthens organizational positioning,develops strategic alliances, and ensures Violet remains a preferred partner for institutional donors, UN agencies, foundations, governments, and the private sector. The role leads the organization's Business Development function and transforms funding opportunities into long-term strategic partnerships that contribute to Violet's mission and sustainable growth

Core Areas of Responsibility

1. Organizational Growth Strategy

.   Lead the development and implementation of Violet's Business Development Strategy

.   Develop multi-year funding and growth strategies

.   Align resource mobilization with organizational priorities

.   Identify strategic expansion opportunities

2. Resource Mobilization

.   Build and manage an institutional funding pipeline

.   Identify new funding opportunities

.   Diversify donor portfolios

.   Increase unrestricted and flexible funding

.   Develop private sector engagement strategies

.   Explore innovative financing mechanisms

3. Donor Engagement&External Relations

.   Build and maintain strategic donor relationships

.   Represent Violet in high-level donor meetings

.   Develop donor engagement plans

.   Lead donor intelligence and relationship management

.   Strengthen donor confidence and organizational credibility

4. Proposal&Opportunity Management

.   Lead the end-to-end business development cycle

.   Coordinate proposal development processes

.   Ensure quality assurance prior to submission

.   Lead capture planning for strategic opportunities

.   Increase proposal competitiveness

5. Market Intelligence

.   Monitor donor strategies

.   Analyze funding trends

.   Track geopolitical and humanitarian priorities

.   Analyze competitors

.   Produce strategic intelligence reports

.   Identify emerging opportunities

6. Organizational positioning

.   Strengthen Violet's external profile

.   Lead strategic communications for donor engagement

.   Develop organizational capability statements

.   Produce positioning papers

.   Coordinate participation in international conferences and forums

.   Support advocacy and thought leadership initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bacalorios's degree in Business Administration, International Development , Humanitarian Studies, Public Policy, Strategic Management, or a related fieln.

Experience

.   Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in international development or humanitarian organizations.

.   Minimum 3 years in business development, fundraising, partnerships, or institutional donor engagemen

.   Experience working with UN agencies, bilateral donors, and international foundations

.   Experience leading large, cross-functional proposal development processes

.   Experience managing strategic partnerships and consortiums
