🎯 Job Purpose

The goal of this position is to work in primary or secondary health facilities as a doctor providing Mental Health (MH) consultations according to the MH Gap Protocol. This includes delivering pharmacological and non-pharmacological psychotherapy services for common psychological disorders through comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, implementation, and follow-up, while maintaining strict ethical and professional standards to safeguard beneficiary rights.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

  1. Assessments: Carry out comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments of individuals and develop tailored intervention plans.
  2. Psychotherapy: Implement individual counseling and psychotherapy sessions for individuals suffering from psychological disorders according to MH Gap protocols.
  3. Care Plans & Treatment: Support beneficiaries in developing step-by-step recovery plans and provide appropriate drug therapy with accurate dosages.
  4. Crisis Management: Act as a technical supervisor and coordinator for critical and high-risk cases, particularly suicide attempts.
  5. Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other MHPSS team members to ensure high-quality service delivery and proper internal/external referrals.
  6. Family Support: Assist caregivers in understanding their children's psychological problems and how to support them effectively.
  7. Follow-up: Monitor the recovery process in coordination with psychotherapists and PSS workers for beneficiaries receiving additional sessions.
  8. Psychoeducation: Provide necessary mental health education to beneficiaries, caregivers, and family members, with a focus on medication compliance and side effects.
  9. Quality Improvement: Utilize beneficiary feedback and clinical outcomes to continuously improve MHPSS service quality.
  10. Data Management: Ensure absolute confidentiality of beneficiary data across electronic and paper clinical records while maintaining high documentation standards.
  11. Supervision: Participate actively in regular individual and group technical supervision sessions.
  12. Reporting: Provide regular weekly and monthly updates and reports to the direct supervisor.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

  • Certification: Psychiatrist or MH Gap doctor holding a practitioner’s certificate in the protocol, including a completed period of supervised practice.
  • Clinical Skills: Proven experience in pharmacological and non-pharmacological psychotherapy according to MH Gap protocols.
  • Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the same or a highly similar position.
  • Languages: Arabic language fluency is mandatory.
  • Core Competencies: Proficiency in computer/technology applications, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Preferred: Additional training in addiction treatment and suicide prevention.
