RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communication and representation:
Represent BAHAR at the food security & Livelihood/Early recovery working groups’ meetings/ workshops at the field level.
Building good relations with key humanitarian actors – local and international, including government authorities and non-state actors, through regular attendance at technical meetings and bilateral meetings.
Ensure that at all times, contact with beneficiaries is conducted sensitively and respectfully.
Participate in responding to complaints and observations and resolving them.
Close follow-ups with the humanitarian response bodies and follow-ups on the changes and gaps, with regular reporting to the HQ-Team.
Ensure continuous project activities through coordination with the local authorities and stakeholders in coordination with the field office director.
- People management:
Supervising and providing technical support to field staff, ensuring the provision of quality/on-time life-saving/life-sustaining assistance.
Ensuring constant coordination between the FS ERL department and other departments, including the supply chain, MEAL, and liaison, to ensure quality and timely implementation of the project’s activities.
Organize regular project coordination meetings with the project field team.
- Project management and development:
Managing and supervising FS ERL projects in northern Syria.
Contributed to develop overall project implementation strategy, systems, approaches, tools, and materials.
Contributed to develop weekly and monthly activities plan in coordination with other members of the FS ERL program team and other departments.
Contributed to plan the various stages of project implementation and set direction by prioritizing and organizing activities and resources to achieve project objectives.
Oversee and manage the implementation of the project ensuring that technical quality and standards are considered and respected during project implementation.
Ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with relevant BAHAR technical guidelines and standards.
Anticipate and mitigate risks and trouble-shoot any unforeseen challenges during the project implementation.
Support beneficiary accountability and participatory approaches throughout the program cycle.
Ensure applying and maintaining an integrated approach with other sectors in order to provide comprehensive and cost-efficient assistance to the affected population.
Support the program officers in developing the projects’ work plans and closely monitor the implementation and progress of the projects according to the pre-set milestones.
Contribute to provide critical inputs/new innovative ideas for projects proposals and budget development, especially for the early recovery and livelihood interventions.
Ensure project records and documents (files, beneficiary list, donation certificates, attendance sheets, etc) are adequately prepared, compiled and filed according to BAHAR procedures.
Ensure that each member of the project team is aware of security issues, policies, SOPs, and they follow them accordingly.
Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to supervisors and other team members.
Developing the project reports’ templates according to the projects’ activities and donors’ requirements.
Provide a technical support needed for the organization’s teams in HQ and Syria.
Developing Human Interest Stories to be published by Bahar organization and its donors.
Contribute to the updating of the security guidelines in the project area of intervention.
Comply with Bahar Organization policies and practices concerning child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities, and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Additional job responsibilities:
The job duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ food industry/ or similar subjects. In case the degree is different, it can be compensated with previous experience in the food security and livelihood sector.
Knowledge of the Humanitarian context from Northern Syria.
Current residence location: Sheik Hadid, Jandiris, Maabatli, Raju, or Afrin.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in food security and livelihood programming.
Minimum two years of project management experience.
Former experience working with early recovery & Livelihood programs is a plus.
Project management experience in the required sector, focusing on early recovery and livelihood interventions.
Proven capabilities in leadership and management required.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and relationship building.
Language proficiency: Upper- intermediate (reading, writing, and speaking) English, and Arabic Language is required
MS Office proficiency
Ability to transfer gained skills to other staff.
Ability to develop related MoUs, SoPs, ToRs and livelihood assessment/economic profile tools.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment with respect for diversity.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Adhering to organization’s vision, mission, goals, and objectives; commitment to humanitarian principles and actions.
Knowledge and familiarity with humanitarian sector and coordination mechanisms.
